Outlining the impact of health policies and other determinants on maternal health

One of the most productive research programs lead by MELISA in epidemiology is related to the so-called ‘Evidence Based Public Health’. The program assesses multiple factors that influence maternal mortality, and currently has investigations running in three countries: Mexico, Chile, and Argentina. Briefly, it is based on the construction, maintenance, and utilization of large epidemiological datasets to conduct population-based natural experiments. Robust study designs and statistical techniques are utilized to guarantee high quality publications in terms of scientific rigor, transparency and reproducibility.
