Part of the MELISA Institute staff visited the Department of Pathophysiology at the Faculty of Biological Sciences of the Universidad de Concepción, in a session focused on strengthening scientific collaborations and exploring new avenues for joint work.
Representing MELISA Institute were Eloisa Koch, General Manager; Mauricio Hernández, MSc, Chief Laboratory Officer (CLO); and Pablo Saldivia, a member of the research staff. They were welcomed by Dr. Jorge Toledo, Director of the Department of Pathophysiology and head of the Biotechnology and Biopharmaceuticals Laboratory, along with doctoral candidates María José Leiva and Carla Villavicencio, from the UdeC Molecular Biotechnology PhD program.

During the meeting, they discussed advancements in proteomics research, tumor organoids, 3D bioprinting, and personalized cancer models, integrating academic, clinical, and technological capabilities to move toward applied biotechnological solutions.
These initiatives allow us to continue developing innovative preclinical platforms for cancer research and therapy evaluation, while also strengthening the training of highly skilled professionals and the link between science and regional impact.
At the MELISA Institute, we continue to foster strategic alliances that connect cutting-edge research, innovation, and precision medicine.
